We accept responsibility of caring for your child in the nursery. Here's how you can help us.

Label everything that belongs to your child.-diaper bags, bottles, clothing, jackets, coats and pacifiers.Sign in-even if your child is there every week. Keep the nursery check in form current by including special instructions concerning your child, such as allergies.

Let your nursery worker if your child is going through any new phases, such as biting, teething, and even potty training. If potty training, bring a change of clothes for your child in a bag with his or her name on it. Accidents are common when kids are away from their daily routines.

Leave special toys at home. Don't force caregivers to explain to other children why one toy cannot be shared.Follow the rules, especially when it comes to sick kids. When in doubt, please stay home. Your little one will be more comfortable there, anyway.

Be prompt about picking kids up after service, meeting, or class. Remember that most nursery workers are volunteers, so don't take advantage of their time. If you're one of the last parents to pick up your child this week, get there more quickly next week.

Pray for the volunteers that help run the church nursery. This can be a thankless job. Encourage them by expressing your appreciation for their efforts.

 

MY TURN IN THE NURSERY

Last Sunday was my turn in the nursery to work. My heart wasn’t in it, and my feelings were hurt.
A child from its mother did not want to part. And cried a lot with it’s broken heart.
I prayed that soon the hour would end. That I could relax -- felt good to be free.
I said once a month was too much for me! That very next Sunday as I sat in the pew.
A very good sermon, but visitors were few. But down came a woman and her soul was saved;
And she was the mother of the crying babe.Then it dawned on me that I had been a part of one being saved-- giving God her heart. From that day one, I would never dread working in the nursery while souls were being fed.

HEALTHY SEPARATION


 

 What it is and how your child can achieve it! What is healthy separation?

Healthy separation is time when your child’s care is entrusted to another and both parent and child suffer no anxiety during this separation. The parents have thoroughly investigated both the place and the persons who will be caring for their child and are pleased with the situation. The child leans because of the way the parents prepare for and present the new situation, and the routine that is developed each time the child is left.

Why is it important?

Healthy separation teaches a child to TRUST. Your child learns to TRUST another loving adult in your absence; he learns to TRUST that you will come back to pick him up; and this becomes your child’s first step in TRUSTING GOD, his Heavenly Father.

Our RESPONSIBILITY to show our love in return by growing up to work for God
